Frontend improvements still matter, but they’re no longer where the most significant wins live. Speed now comes from the architecture beneath the interface — the layers that fetch, compute, and respond before a single pixel is painted. If you’re only looking at what happens in the browser, you’re only seeing half the picture. Today’s fast sites are built by teams who understand where performance begins.
